Dee’s Home was created by the President of our nonprofit, Dorenna Ward, after some of the many struggles she had experienced as a single mother believing that God would make a way for her and her children. During the toughest seasons of her life, she found that through the cultivation of love, faith, and a space to heal began to not just positively impact her children’s life but other youth that her children met through school. Her home began to fill with children that did not belong to her, but was drawn to the love in her home. Most moments our President did not have much food to feed these children or even enough finances to know how to get her children to school, but one thing she did have was faith and love. Through the cultivation of the faith and love, these children were able to receive counseling from Dorenna Ward, who is an Apostle in the faith, and receive the direction and the assistance that they needed. Some of the children that arrived at her home were facing teenage pregnancy, homelessness due to domestic violent situations, or even lack of academic support through the school systems.

Dorenna continued to speak with these children's parents and or guardians about their well-being and how to bring reconciliation into their homes if at all possible. This led our President to believe that some of the things that we notice to be a problem in the community today in those at the adult stage, we notice that it is a result of a problem present in our youth generation that we failed to address. She believes that there are much more youth around Cincinnati that are facing these challenges in their daily lives.  Dee’s Home, offers support and alleviation to families and youth in a time of dissension and hardship in their personal homes. Our plan is to provide housing and resources for youth while reconciliation and restoration takes place in their personal lives and domestic situations to place them in the best position to overcome the circumstances that are at hand.
